Beyond Blue and Bowls Victoria

Bowls Victoria have teamed up with the national depression initiative, Beyond Blue, in a 3-year community partnership. Beyond Blue is chaired by former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett and aims to raise awareness of depression and anxiety in the community. The partnership will help Beyond Blue get it's message to the bowls community, which encompasses a wide age demographic in metro and country centres. Being active and healthy by playing bowls is one of the ways to help overcome anxiety and depression.State player Lee Schraner will be an ambassador for the partnership, having overcome his own battle with depression six years ago.
