Sponsorship News
BCIB have agreed to sponsor the 2004 WRAS BCIB Lawn Bowls Squad, which
is attached to the Western Region Academy of Sport at Bathurst, NSW.
This squad of great young bowlers is selected from clubs as far as Cobar
and Bourke in far west NSW, as well as strong bowling centres like Dubbo,
Orange and Bathurst. BCIB accepted an invitation to sponsor this squad
as we see it as a wonderful opportunity to support junior bowls in country
NSW.
BCIB also recognises the dedicated support team headed by Nancy Haslop,
Executive Director of WRAS and John Rodis from West Dubbo Bowling Club
as Chairman of the Committee. We look forward to working with WRAS to
ensure the future of the squad.
We can also report that we have entered into agreements with WA, QLD
and the ACT Bowling Associations as a sponsor. We are very excited and
consider it a privilege to be involved. It was an absolute pleasure to
be involved in negotiation with Andrew Colling, CEO-WA, Peter Turnbull,
CEO- QLD and Ian Mcphee and Mick Farr, President and Secretary from the
ACT. All of these administrators are highly professional and committed
to the sport of lawn bowls.
Whilst on sponsorship, BCIB has again agreed to be a major sponsor of
bowls in NSW. Negotiations with Sports Administrator Ray Tozer (who drives
a hard bargain) have been successful and we are there again for another
three years. It is great to be involved with NSW and we look forward
to being part of promoting bowls at all levels.
In February 2004 BCIB Managing Director Ian Hopper, Director Suzanne
Whiteside and Account Executive Brett Duprez traveled to Perth, WA, to
be part of the Melville Bowling Club finals of the 7’s night competition.
We congratulate Melville Bowling Club on organising and conducting a
great tournament, which was supported by a large number of clubs and
BCIB look forward to being involved in 2005.
Brett Duprez
We are sure most bowlers around Australia would know Brett Duprez.
Brett is of course a great bowler and a current Australian representative,
but he is also a qualified insurance broker having recently completed
his first level of study and passed his exams with flying colours. Brett
is an important part of the BCIB team, as one of our Account Executives,
and enjoys his role of traveling around the country visiting bowling
clubs.
Liability Insurance
Clubs in NSW know how difficult
the huge increases in liability insurance premiums have been in the past
few years. BCIB was proactive in arranging
a liability insurance ‘pool’ with a major Australian insurer
enabling us to manage liability insurance for bowling clubs.
Bowling clubs who currently have their insurances managed by BCIB, and
those about to join us, will be pleased to know that these premiums are
on their way down. You should experience a reduction in your premiums
when you renew after November 2003.
